My name is Tim, Not Simon (1990, Groningen) . I am a queer visual artist based in Amsterdam who  creates large-scale balloon installations that transform space, emotion, and perception.
my soft sculptures, installations, and performances emerge from a queer perspective: bold, tender, and unapologetically expressive.

Rooted in queer club culture, my work often inhabits nightlife spaces where inflated forms come alive through light, sound, and movement.
These environments function as temporary sanctuaries: places of fluid identity, transformation, and liberation.

I work with latex balloons for their immediacy and impermanence.
Fragile yet defiant, i want my creations to search how far the limits of life, nature, (gender) expression, beauty and sex reach. always within an artificial microcosm.

I have a deep commitment to the queer community, here lies the heart of my practice.
Through visual installations, performance, and collaborations, I create places for expression, joy, release, and collective reimagining.

In a world shaped by control, my work embraces softness, chaos, and queerness as vital, radical forces.

Feel free to contact me for more information, i am always interested in new concepts/events.

If you have an event or concept that is created for queer and trans people or by queer and  trans people, I am willing to donate a part of my practice.
this means that i will be open to search for a price that fits within a smaller budget, work with a shorter time frame, in a difficult space or any other special requests.
i will fully commit to my contribution of your event/concept.
